Collection Jane Deering Gallery. Twelve years of work on 20th century tragedy left me searching for a place of inner rest and retreat. "Ten Thousand Things" is a Daoist term for the manifest universe. The phrase became a tool for regaining perspective, of finding beauty again in the world. I came to think of process as a meditative activity, and the piece as like a Chinese scholar's rock, an object for contemplation.
